Acanthus silver cutlery from Georg Jensen silversmithy.
Flatware Acanthus, Large teaspoon, length 15.7 cm. 6 1/8 inches. Factory mark 1945-1952. Fine condition, normal signs of use.
Designed by the painter, Johan Rohde, and produced since 1917. Johan Rohde , who lived for a time in Italy, was inspired by the antique style. This shows in the cutlery's pillar shaped handle which ends in a Corinthian capital with acanthus leaves. Johan Rohde began his close and lifelong association with Georg Jensen in 1906.
